PRO notes 28.5.2017

The Reserve side winning performances were temporarily halted when on Friday evening they faced Harlesden Harps and were unfortunate losers; final score 1-07 to 0-17.  All eyes were on London on Sunday when they faced Leitrim and although the game saw plenty of opportunities, the dream result was not to be and lost narrowly by 3 points.  A massive well done to Jarleth and Martin who both started and Greg who came on as a substitute in the second half.  They played with tenacity and passion amongst a team who never gave up.  It was a great day for the London GAA with a historic opening ceremony, a splendid new stand amongst other facilities alongside a fantastic new pitch.  Congratulations to the board, officials and stewards on the day.

Training at Northwick Park for the Seniors is cancelled for this week only but continues as usual the following week from 7.30 – 9.00pm.  Always happy to welcome new players to an established and sociable club.  Please contact Senior Secretary Dennis Diggins on 07768352680.  Lifts can be arranged.

Best of luck this week and into the weekend as the Senior men play in varied competitions; 1/6 v Harlesden Harps AIB Div 2 R3 7.15pm Northwick Pack.  The Reserves face NLS on the 4/6 at 5.00pm and on the same day, the club plays Round Towers at 2.00pm in the semi-final of the Tipperary Cup; both games at Greenford.

Our U10’s attended a wonderful charity event in St Albans, ‘BuildforShea’, a family fun day and gaelic football was one of the many activities that took place.  We wish Alan and Sharon (parents) all the best with their endeavours to raise funds to convert their home for Shea and the club is delighted to be making a donation.  Congratulations to our players who played in the U17 Development Squad against Warwickshire in Ruislip in the McCarthy Cup, prior to the main game.  London won by two points and the following players featured:  Josh Obahor (Captain 0-1), Luke Horgan, Michael Walsh, Luke McHugh, Lewis Dickinson, Jojo Thabo, Ciaran Griffin and Niall Bradshaw.  It was great to see so many of our young players at Ruislip enjoying the games and soaking up the atmosphere, hopefully a day they will remember for a long time to come.  The U12’s will continue with another round this Saturday of their league at TCG.  The club would also like to highlight our young U14 players who have recently been selected for the Feile Squad who are currently training very hard.  They are Aiden Doran, Beanon Corrigan, Darragh Griffin, Ronan Hutchins and Patrick Murphy.  Also, a massive achievement for Brea Corrigan named in the U14 Girls Feile squad who is currently U12 and was picked along with 7 other U14 Parnells girls.

As the summer continues, training attendance has been fantastic.  The U6/8/10 have sessions on a Wednesday from 6.30-7.30/7.45pm. The U12 Girls and their programme ‘Gaelic 4 Girls’ comes to a conclusion this Wednesday 6.30-7.30pm with the last session taking place.  A very successful programme and well done to Fiona and the coaches involved.  U12 Boys-Thursday’s 6.30-7.45pm, U14’s-Tuesday 6.15-7.30pm, U16’s-Tuesday 6.30 – 7.45pm.  Minors linking up with the Seniors for their training sessions.  To attend any of the above training sessions contact Youth Club Secretary, Colin Corrigan on 07917729411 or Fiona Corrigan for the girls on 07940 568702.  A great response to the handing in of membership forms to date but there are still some outstanding, please ensure they are completed and passed to your manager as soon as possible.

The clubs extends its sincere condolences to the Griffin family on the passing of Nora Mulcahey, great aunt to young Killian Griffin.  May she rest in peace.

As the exam season continues for our older players, keep studying, not long to go now!
