PRO Notes 6.5.2018

Well done to the Senior team who have reached the Tipperary Cup semi-final.  Deserved recognition to the club’s committee for organising yet another fabulous golf day.  Teams attended in full, no doubt encouraged by the fabulous weather and a great day of golf ensued.  As early evening approached, the catering team at the golf club put on a delicious carvery enjoyed by all and this was followed by the presentations to the winning teams and individuals (photos and more details in a separate news piece to follow).

Friday evening the U14 and O14 girls played extremely well and enjoyed success against Tara girls.  TCG are to be congratulated on their Peter McGlynn tournament.  Players from U6 up to U13 (5 teams) had a great day out with plenty of football.  The U13 reached the final after their unbeaten run in earlier rounds only to be defeated by Tara but enjoyed the occasion nevertheless.

Sunday was dominated by the Connacht Senior Championship quarter-final but prior to the match the U17 development squad faced Warwickshire and the club is delighted that Parnells had 9 players feature on the panel, they were as follows:  Michael Walsh, Eoghan Reilly, Niall Twomey, Lewis Dickinson, Conal White, Luke McHugh, Ciaran Griffin, JoJo Thabo, Liam Bakery and Jack Curd.  Congratulations on a fantastic win and great comeback in the second half.

At half time in the Senior game, the youth took to the field to display their skills with Parnells Madi Cox, Daisy Curd, Joe McGuinness, Taighe Slattery and Eoin Murray involved; an honour for any young player.

More football to come over the next week with Parnells U13’s hosting games in Pool A in the League.  The U6/8/10’s and U12 girls are off to a blitz hosted by Gael Londain and U15’s and U17’s in action in their respective leagues as well.

The Youth’s U12/13 ‘Trip to Tipp’ is all set to go.  Flights booked and the exciting and packed itinerary in place which will be available soon.

The club would like to wish all the best to those club players in our youth section making First Holy Communion’s or Confirmation over the next few weeks.
