PRO Notes 17.6.2018

The Senior Men unfortunately lost to Round Towers last Sunday 0 – 09 to 1 – 09.  A narrow defeat but will have confidence facing KKG.  The reserves will also be playing and the Club looks forward to some good results.

Parnells U15 had a fantastic win in the League against St Kiernans but were unlucky to lose against Dulwich Harps.  Three quick goals by the opposition meant they faced a first half uphill battle and our forwards hit the cross bar on more than one occasion.  The start of the second half favoured Parnells with 2 goals and 2 points being scored from the whistle but too many wides meant that the gap couldn’t be closed.  All to play for in the forthcoming Championship.

Taras held a successful Go Games Blitz and once again the Club were represented across the age groups.  These young players just can’t get enough football and the U6’s delighted everyone as they showed how they are learning the skills of the game.  Good luck to the U13’s in the League play offs and the U17’s who start playing as the exam period draws to a close.

The Club is also planning its Invitational tournament for the 8th July for the U12 age group.  This tournament in fact incorporates 3 trophies on the day to commemorate 3 important figures in the club who are sadly no longer with us.  Conrad Ryan, a young man who was a fantastic talent and was tragically lost to his family and the club at the age of 18.  Nora Togher, wife of Tom who was a club stalwart in the early years of the youth set up.  Gerry Somers who was a coach/manager with 3 boys who played for Parnells and worked tirelessly on and off the field.

The registration will be at 11.00am and takes place at Harrow Rugby Club.
