Parnells Mens 21st Golf Classic 5.5.2023

Parnells Men held their 21st Golf Day recently and as in previous years, it was well supported.  With nearly 20 teams competing, the stakes were high!  The day’s golf started with a welcome breakfast, warm up and a shot gun start at 1pm.  Teams headed out to the course with ‘intent’.  By the close of play, score cards were returned and refreshments taken before discussion of highs and lows of the day.  All the players and organisers availed of the delicious meal and waited for the winner announcements.

Dennis Diggins (Chair) welcomed everyone and thanked the sponsors and individuals who had made the day so successful.  Firstly GGH and Gerry Gardiner for his organisation and input in to the day and Kerry London and Leon who sponsored the prizes.  Joan Regan and Willie Moffatt who helped in the administration of the day and not forgetting that Joan was there to present the Joe Regan Memorial Cup to the winners.  Joe who sadly passed away was a club stalwart who loved his gaelic and golf and attended numerous society golf events and it is always poignant that this day is marked by Parnells to remember him.

After the winners were announced (see below), Tommy took over the reigns with his lyrical comedy and song and auctioned off golf, gaelic and soccer prizes.  The evening drew to a close after the raffle.

Parnells value and appreciate all the companies and individuals that took part and without their support, supporting our teams would be even more difficult.  We look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2024.
