5.11.2017 PRO Notes

Captain Neil McNamara with Pat Byrne and Joel McInern

A fantastic end to the season for the club with the Minor team winning the Championship in Greenford on Sunday, defeating St Kiernans  4-12 to 0-8.  The club is extremely proud of all the players in the squad and saw them win a 4th Minor Championship title in a row and also the League and Championship double in the one season.  Congratulations to the management and mentors involved and parents who also have always given their full support.  A full report will be available on the website soon.

The London Youth Presentation took place on the 3rd November in Ruislip for the U14 Feile Teams and the U16 & U18 Development Squads and many of our club players who were involved over the season attended.  Then list is as follows-

U18:  Ciaran O’Donoghue, Joshua Obahor, Luke Horgan and Matthew McHugh

U16:  Luke McHugh, Michael Walsh, Eamon Kane, Eoghan Reilly, Jojo Thabo, Ciaran Griffin, James Phillips, Lewis Dickinson, Niall Twomey and Niall Bradshaw.  Also involved were U14 Feile players- Beanón Corrigan and Darragh Griffin.

U14 Feile:  Ronan Hutchins, Patrick Murphy, Beanón Corrigan, Darragh Griffin and Aiden Doran.

U14 Feile (Girls):  Brea Corrigan from U12 plus other U14 players including Aisling Fallon.

Congratulations to the following players who were nominated for ‘Player of the Year’ awards:  U18-Joshua Obahor and U16-Michael Walsh.  Unlucky not to win but a wonderful accolade to be nominated for brilliant performances.  A special mention to Aisling Fallon who won the U14 London Girls Feile Player of the Year.  An outstanding achievement-well done.

The next main event for the club is the Annual Youth Presentation which is to take place on the 19th of November at Ruislip GAA Clubhouse.  There is no better place to have our event this year with the redevelopment of the grounds having taken place and to give young players who haven’t yet had a chance to savour the new stadium an opportunity to gaze out on to the ground and have a taste of where youth finals will hopefully be played next season.  The afternoon is split as follows:  arrival from 2pm, U6-U10 presentation from approx. 2.30pm.  A brief break from approx. 4-4.45pm for a buffet followed by U12-Minor from 5pm. Family fee entry which will include raffle tickets and buffet.  We look forward to seeing everyone.
