On Saturday last, at our own venue at Northwick Park, Parnell’s under 10’s competed in the annual James O’Brien tournament which was organised by the St. Kiernan’s club.
From our group the team progressed to the Shield Final where they faced a good Taras team saving their best performance for this match running out convincing winners with every player contributing to the victory.
All games were played with great spirit and in a very sporting manner. Having four substitutes and ensuring every player got some game time in every match resulted in numerous changes and did unfortunately disrupt us at times. However, to be fair all the players were excellent (and understandably disappointed) in accepting they would have to take a turn on the sideline to ensure all team members got on and all played wherever they were asked to doing their bit for the team.
Congratulations to all the players on a thoroughly deserved win – as always they were a credit to all.
The team comprised
