Parnells Gold team had four games at the ABC. The team comprised of James Keegan, Darragh Egan, Ronan Keran, Ronan Carolan, Aidan Gallagher, Ethan Shaughnessy, Michael Butler and Ryan Bailey.
The first game commenced against Gael Londain. We had our toughest game first and the boys didn’t seem to get going quickly enough against a strong team who just shaded it.
Our second and third games were against St Colmcilles II and Round Towers. Both were fairly even encounters however the team competed well and deservedly just shaded both games.
We had a break of over an hour and the team headed off for a well-earned bite to eat returning for our final game against TCG II.
This proved our most dominant performance (maybe we should have had chicken nuggets before the first match!) with some great passing and moving throughout with some attacks starting in the backs flowing through midfield before being skilfully converted by the forwards.
A great way to end the day before heading off to collect medals.
Well done to all – a pleasure as always to coach and it was great Parnells could field four Under 10s teams with 34 children taking the field to represent the club.
It’s important we keep the numbers up so if you know anyone who may be interested in giving the game a go they will be more than welcome to come and join us for a few sessions to see how they get on.
