The Senior team were unlucky to lose out in the Tipperary Cup Semi Final last week. Facing a strong TCG side the lads trailed at half time 0-5 to 0-11. A much better second half saw the gap close with a goal by Jamie Murphy but unfortunately not enough scores were taken and lost out; final score 1 – 07 to 0 – 14.
With glorious weather at the weekend it was matched with fabulous football. The youth section played in blitzes and games in various locations. Both U11 and U13 teams continued with their games in Pool A and once again showed great skills and enthusiasm, both age groups winning 3 games out of 4 each.
The busiest and largest blitz of the weekend was hosted by ourselves at Harrow Rugby Club with 29 teams participating. The organisation was second to none with everyone offering their time during the week and on the day. All the teams displayed exemplary football skills and behaviour and are to be complimented. The day was rounded off with relaxation around the clubhouse and ‘soak the coach’, plenty of adults and youngsters being cooled down! More reports and photo’s to follow.
A gap in the football schedule coming up to half term will allow many teams to enjoy the holiday and also for our own club to prepare for the ‘Trip to Tipp’ which is all set to go. Flights booked and the exciting and packed itinerary in place, this will be posted in a separate news post to follow shortly. We would also like to recognise our players who were selected to join the U14 Feile squad: Pearce Kerr, Conor Moran, Rory Welby, Luke Keane and Callum Downey. Well done boys and keep up the hard training.
The club would like to wish all the best to those club players in our youth section taking exams as the ‘exam’ period continues.
