After the success of Parnells Men in 2022, it was with relish that the men were looking forward to starting 2023, participating in the senior Tipperary Cup competition after a gap of 4 years.
The first game was played in late April, a tough opener against previous Senior Championship winners, Fulham Irish. The game took place without some of the more experienced players, some new player additions and two players who moved up from U17. Although the result didn’t go our way, it provided a good gauge of what would be needed later in the season and fantastic that our two youngest players found the back of the net 3 times!
The second game would be equally challenging against Thomas McCurtains but on the day, all players stepped up to the challenge, with some quality attacking football and pleasing that ten players were able to get on the scoreboard. With a win, all to play for in the next game against The Kingdom. Two clubs that have shared so much success historically, it should be a great game.
